The latest Emmerdale spoilers suggest that Belle Dingle will finally testify against her abusive husband, Tom. In the closing moments of Wednesday’s episode, we saw Belle share her decision—finally, we feel as relieved as her family members! In last week’s episode, Belle was still in a dilemma, but now, it seems like everything is working out for the good.
Reason Behind Belle’s Dilemma
In the last episode, we saw Belle still in a dilemma whether to testify in court or not as Tom tried to commit suicide. As viewers, we see Belle question her decision and leave without informing anyone, with a note behind her. However, little did she know that Tom had faked it all, and his motive was to manipulate Belle and delay or cancel the trial. Though everyone starts blaming Belle, only Charity Dingle can figure out Tom’s evil plans.
Everyone in the family had almost assumed that Belle wouldn’t be testifying anymore and had changed her mind after Tom’s suicide attempt. Even Tom’s solicitor, Ollie, informed Tom that Belle hadn’t come to the court. Tom was very happy and thought his plan was finally working, and now, the chances of him winning the trial were higher. But little did he know that there was a surprise for him in store.
Belle Didn’t Fall for It
Just as Tom was going to take advantage of Belle’s absence and went to give false testimony, Belle arrived at the court and was ready to expose Tom’s truth in front of everyone. We see Charity and Cain warning her about how Tom might “tear her apart.” But finally, Belle is not the one to fall for Tom’s tricks or abuse now. Belle strongly retaliates and replies, “No, he isn’t. It’s time for me to tell my story.”
You will see it all on Thursday’s one-hour special episode, which, as the show bosses confirmed earlier, will include real-life stories of real survivors. To this, Laura Shaw said, “We knew from the outset that Belle would need some sort of closure on Tom and we know our Emmerdale audience always look forward to our villains getting their comeuppance.
