Former Coronation Street Star Pays Tribute to Helen Worth – Calls Her “Phenomenal!”

Coronation Street has been prepping for Helen Worth’s exit for quite a while now. We previously saw how the whole crew threw her a party at the Bistro, where everyone she had ever appeared with was present. And we saw Gail coming in wearing a T-shirt with the names of all her husbands until now. It was an incredible one, and everyone took to social media as well to pay her tribute for the fifty years she dedicated to this show.

Recently, ex-Corrie star Shayne Ward, who played Aidan Connor in the soap, paid her a tribute before she exited the soap. Though Ward’s longevity in the show was short, from 2015 to 2018 – he garnered quite some fame. While talking to The Sun, he talked about Helen Worth and couldn’t stop praising how “phenomenal” she has always been.

Shayne’s Tribute to Helen Worth

Shayne began by saying how great a loss it was and how blessed he had done so many scenes with her. He has loved every bit of his journey during that phase and wouldn’t change a thing. He even further described his experience working with Helen Worth. As he said, when you are in her presence, she is really sweet and fun – and there’s so much to learn from her. And that’s why not having her around will be a huge loss for everyone around the cobbles.

We can’t help but agree with Shayne when he said Gail is tied to our nostalgia. As we have watched her on the show for the past three decades, it’s hard to let go. When Gail announced her exit earlier this year, we were similarly heartbroken. All we know is that her exit storyline will feature a wedding, but whether that will happen remains to be seen.
