EastEnders Icon Nigel Bates Is BACK!
EastEnders fans got to witness a major blast from the past in recent episodes as Paul Bradley reprised his role of Nigel Bates on the show. After being away for 26 years, the fan-favorite character made his comeback this week on Christmas Eve. Long-time viewers know that Nigel was last seen in April 1998 when he left for Scotland with his partner and adopted daughter to start a new life.
The legendary character is still fondly remembered for his romance with Debbie Taylor. This guest stint is Bradley’s first appearance since leaving the show, so this comeback will definitely make the fans happy. Spoilers relay that Nigel will come face to face with Yolande as she decides to help in the community centre by giving out food. While there, she spoke to a man with long grey hair and an unkempt beard with whom she shared a drink.
Yolande arrived on the BBC soap after Nigel left so she had no idea that she was talking to a former Walford mainstay. He was discussing his fond memories of the Square with her. We will soon see him crossing paths with Phil Mitchell too. Soap boss Chris Clenshaw also shed light on Paul’s return. And said, ‘It’s fantastic to welcome Paul Bradley back as Nigel Bates, a character much-loved by long-time viewers.’

The iconic actor also spoke about his return and mentioned that he’s thrilled and honoured to be back as Nigel. He also added that, “It’s fantastic to work with Steve McFadden (Phil Mitchell) again.
