Let’s not keep you hanging anymore – scroll up.
25 Years of Journey Coming to an End
Our beloved Eileen Grimshaw, aka Sue Cleaver, will soon exit the cobbles after an incredible 25-year journey. She stepped into the iconic role in 2000, but this year, in 2025, her final scenes are set to air in late Spring. While talking to the Digital Spy, she expressed that it has been a privilege to work with Coronation Street for 25 years straight, but now, she wants to embrace the change.
The actor also added that the show producers have kept the door firmly open for her. But now that she has stepped into her 60s, she wants to embark on some new & fearless adventures. Producer Kate Brooks said that they are sad to bid farewell to Sue as for the past 25 years. Additionally, she said that Eileen Grimshaw has been at the heart of some of the most memorable and iconic Corrie storylines. She also appreciated her onscreen rivalry with Gail Platt, which was so much fun to watch.
Lastly, she couldn’t help but say that there would never be anyone like Eileen and wished her luck. We are similarly overwhelmed and wish Sue all the best in her future endeavors. However, that doesn’t make this goodbye any easier—we wish to see her back on screen soon for any other projects.
