The LA fire that broke out yesterday has brought tragedy into many homes. General Hospital star, Cameron Mathison, has also fallen victim to the heart wrenching calamity. The actor took to social media to share the devastating news with his fans, followed, and other fellow victims of the California fire.
“Our beloved home is gone, taken by the fires,” Cameron Mathison wrote in a saddening post. The actor famous for playing Drew Cain on General Hospital had been living in the home with his family for more than a decade. The family has seen many chapters of life and created uncountable memories together under the roof of the very home. Thus, it is unimaginable to even think how devastating it must be to watch it all burn to the ground.
“It’s hard to process that the place where we built our lives is no longer standing,” Cameron stated. However, they do have one thing to be grateful for – despite the hellish fire, the Mathison family is safe and sound. “While our home is gone, my family is unharmed. For that, I am profoundly thankful, he noted.” Many other people who shared the same experience in the tragedy will resonate with his sentiments.
The tragedy, of course, wasn’t limited to Cameron Mathison. Countless families have been uprooted, and many lives stand destroyed. Many families have had to evacuate their homes due to the fire. While many others opened their homes to the victims of the fire. The latter has once again proven that despite the dark times that we are living in, humanity is still alive!
ABC Soap Issues Statement
In a gut-wrenching coincidence, General Hospital, the ABC soap that Cameron stars in, is also currently showcasing a storyline involving fire and burns. In a recent episode, we saw Sonny’s penthouse going up in flames. Said flames engulfed his son Michael. He is now fighting for his life in the hospital. Understanding the sensitivity, GH released an official statement in support of the episode.
The post stated that the ongoing episodes may prove difficult to watch for some people, in light of the tragic fires. They also expressed their sadness over the incident and extended their solidarity with the victims. We also urge viewers to be a little mindful while watching these episodes, as they may prove to be triggering to some.
