Jason Morgan has been a very crucial part of ABC’s General Hospital. He is one of the most loved characters, porytared by one of the most loved soap stars – Steve Burton. Over the decades, a huge part of Jason’s appeal has been his “Stone Cold” personality that emerged post an accident. Following that, Jason found purpose in being Sonny’s right hand man, and has always been loyal to the mobster. Come what may!
However, the recent General Hospital episodes have shown a different side of Jason, one we never saw before. When Sonny Corinthos asked him to slip into his shoes, he declined. Jason wants to pull out of the mob, and told Sonny that he can’t take over his role. Which is huge! Over the years, we have never seen Jason go against Sonny like that. He put Danny’s well being above and ahead of Sonny.
Jason knows that if he continues to be a part of the mob, it will not only endanger his life, but also Danny’s. And after Sam’s passing, he just cannot do that to him. But that’s not all! In a recent episode, Sonny wanted Jason to stand beside him as he urged Tracy to give Wiley and Amelia to Willow. However, Jason eventually sided with Tracy when she urged him to choose his family for once.
Jason knew that Michael’s ICU visitation being on the line, yet he went against Sonny. He told him that he couldn’t take Wiley and Amelia away from Monica. Following that, Jason really teared up when Tracy pulled him in for a hug. The embrace really made him emotional. It looks like the Stone Cold part of Jason has begun to crack. But how far beyond this will Jason’s transformation go?
We are really excited and intrigued by this change that is slowly coming in Jason, and we cannot wait to see how far it extends.
