EastEnders Spoilers confirm that a new character is going to be a part of Nigel Bates’ storyline. The iconic character returned to Walford before Christmas and has been residing with his long-lost friend, Phil. It was recently revealed that Nigel was diagnosed with onset dementia a year ago, and he’s currently dodging calls from his wife, Julie. He shared with Yolande that he doesn’t want her to see him deteriorate.
Viewers know Nigel hasn’t informed Phil about his diagnosis as well because he doesn’t want to burden his friend, who is struggling with his own mental health battle. In the upcoming week, Yolande will continue to tell Nigel that he should inform Phil about his dementia so he can support him, too. She will also follow up with regarding the same soon as the duo works together in the soup kitchen.
