Patsy Kensit who played Sadie King on Emmerdale, recently opened up about a challenging personal battle, and we couldn’t be more concerned about what she had to go through. Known for her dramatic on-screen storylines, Patsy revealed a more personal and emotional struggle that has deeply affected her life off-screen. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared her struggle and gave fans a glimpse into her ongoing fight with mental health.
Patsy Kensit Opens Up About Her Diagnosis
Patsy Kensit shared that she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) at the end of last year. She admitted that she had been feeling much better after receiving the diagnosis and taking steps to manage it. However, she recently experienced a setback, which led her to feel “misled and hurt.” Taking to Instagram, Patsy posted a sad face emoji and shared a sneak peek of her journey.
She said, “Today has been a hard day. Today, I feel misled and hurt. I was diagnosed with PTSD at the end of last year and really turned a major corner and was feeling great. Today, I don’t feel great. I feel grateful but sad. Anyone who has dealt with mental health issues and depression will understand and know that you are not alone. When I’m working, I feel none of the above. I’ve just finished filming. I will meditate and try to raise my frequency to bring positivity back into my life.”
We feel as emotional as you do after reading this. Her fans were quick to respond positively and showered her with their love. One chimed in, saying, “Sending love… you will heal, lovely.” While another said, “Break it into chunks – today doesn’t have to impact tomorrow. You’ve got this”.
Others shared their own experiences with PTSD. Behind all the on-screen drama, it’s commendable how Patsy got the courage to share her mental health battle. We at Soap Opera Daily will keep you posted on what happens next in Patsy’s life. Until then, you can check out the other Emmerdale updates.
