EastEnders Brings Back Vicki For Martin’s Funeral
EastEnders is bringing back a shocking character after being away for 20 years. None other than Vicki Fowler, last seen in 2004, is coming to Walford to attend her uncle Martin’s funeral. Viewers know Martin tragically died after being crushed by a metal beam at The Vic. Vicki’s role will now be portrayed by Alice Haig, and she’s returning with her boyfriend, Ross, and their son, Joel.
During her last stint, Vicki left the Square and was supposedly living in Australia with Spencer Moon, but this new family will obviously surprise Sharon and Alfie. Even though they’re doubtful – Vicki will hellbent on making her relationship work with Ross and the family is desperate to convince everyone that they’re a great couple. Speaking about her sudden return, Haig mentioned that she’s very excited.
The actress also added, “I have always watched the show, and I was born in February 1985, so I’m the same age as EastEnders! It’s so cool to be playing a character like Vicki – we think we know her, but a lot has changed. I can’t wait for all the Albert Square drama ahead.” She also opened up about having friends on the BBC soap over the years. As for Ross actor, Alex Walkinshaw, she also shed light on his character.
Murray, who will make his acting debut on the soap as Joel, said: “It’s an absolute privilege and honour to be joining such a wonderful production full of a lovely cast and crew.” It will be exciting to see how newcomers adjust in Walford.
