On Coronation Street, Carla Connor thought she could finally move on after her terrifying situation with her brother, Rob Donovan. But it seems her nightmare is far from over. Just as she begins to rebuild her life—new events leave her wondering if Rob is still out there. Is he on his way back?
Will Rob Return?
Rob Donovan recently escaped from prison after realising that DS Lisa Swain had no intention of getting his conviction overturned. With help from his girlfriend, Mandy, a prison guard, he took Carla hostage to use her as leverage. Things turned violent when he attacked Lisa—but his plan started to fall apart when Carla fought back and sent him tumbling down the staircases.
Carla and Lisa thought it was over. They rushed to the hospital, believing Rob was dead, only to find out that he had survived and escaped. The news shook Carla to the core. She’s now constantly looking over her shoulder and afraid Rob could return at any moment.
However, Carla decided to return to work as she didn’t want fear to overpower her. But it seems like soap bosses have other plans. Betsy Swain draws Carla’s attention to a news report on the radio—that revealed a possible sighting of Rob in the Brighton area. Though Carla takes it positively and thinks Rob will be caught soon, it doesn’t happen. But that hope quickly fades when she comes home to find her door open and signs that someone has been inside.
The thought of Rob being on the loose leaves stirs up Carla’s fears again and now she’s unsure of what’s real and what’s just mind games. The soap’s producer Kate Brooks has teased “lots of twists and turns” for this storyline and we can’t wait to see what happens next.
