As reported earlier, Lynne McGranger, who plays the character of Irene Roberts on Home and Away is stepping away. After playing the character for almost 32 years, she has decided to part ways in a more permanent way. But this has left fans and co-stars sad and wondering. Many fans have taken to social media to express their sadness over this. Many have been wondering what her exit storyline would be.
In a recent interview with The West, Lynne McGranger opened up about her exit storyline and what she feels about it. She said that while she cannot divulge a lot of what is happening there, she thinks that everyone is going to love it. She called the story “pertinent, important, and something that she is very proud of. Talking about it she says that from what she has read so far, she thinks that it is very well written. She just hopes to do justice to it.
With that said, she also hopes that her fellow actors would support her. She is looking forward to seeing how all of that unfolds. While Lynee is looking forward to bringing this chapter of her life to an end, it looks like her co-stars are not ready to go. In fact, Ada Nicodemou, who plays the character of Leah Patterson-Baker on Home and Away, took to her social media to pay tribute to McGranger.
Taking to her social media, the actress posted some very beautiful pictures of the two of them. She called McGranger her best mate, and her favourite work mate. She said that she feels like she is still in denial that she is leaving. In fact, Ada might not let her leave after all. Her plans are to kidnap her and let her live in their dressing room. She just doesn’t think that the show would be the same without her and they all adore her.
To this, McGranger said that she probably would be in bits when the day comes. But then she reassures her co-star that she would be forever friends and have many more lunches, dinners, catch ups and laughs.
