It reminds her of what her grandmother, Yasmeen Metcalfe, went through with her abusive husband, Geoff Metcalfe, before his death in 2020. The painful memories make it impossible for Alya to handle the case. Feeling unable to take on the coercive control case, Alya decides to quit her job at Fabian’s.
