EastEnders star Laura Doddington has recently revealed that her character Nicola Mitchell will be “pushed to the edge” in the coming weeks. Laura Opens Up About Her Character!
Nicola arrived in Walford town last November. She made her ex-husband Teddy Mitchell’s new girlfriend Sharon Watts the first enemy as soon as she entered the town. Spoilers relay that Sharon’s brother Zack Hudson is the real father of Nicola’s son Barney. Though the news came as a shock to Zack, he was still determined to tell Teddy the truth.
Nicola warned Zack that her ex-husband is a killer and is responsible for their son Harry’s girlfriend – Shireen Bashar’s sudden disappearance. In the coming week, Asad – Shireen’s brother – is all set to arrive on the Square. He will be accusing Teddy of her sister’s murder. Whereas, Harry will be defending his father publicly and later will be seen begging to know the truth.
Furthermore, Nicola will be seen visiting a mysterious man named Benji and ask him about where Shireen is. It seems Nicola knows more than she’s telling. For some suspicious reason, she will also oppose the plan of redevelopment of the local area by Junior Knight. Does this suggest that the two are linked by any chance?
EastEnders Nicola’s Lies To Lead Towards More Drama?
Laura has pointed towards more drama that can be unfolding in the coming times. She explained how her character is ‘a woman pushed to the edge’. The actress also highlighted that Nicola will be tested over how far love, manipulation and lies will take her. She shared that it is very hard for her alter ego to carry the weight of all the secrets she’s hiding as it is her son who’s suffering in the return.
Doddington also said that Nicola can ‘go to any lengths for her boys and will protect them at any cost, but at the same time is protesting against herself.’ Adding to it, she also revealed that Nicola is scared of the possibility of Teddy discovering the truth about Barney. ‘Her 16 years’ hard work will come down crumbling if the secret comes out.’
Well time will tell what will happen if sooner or later Nicola’s secrets will be revealed. But until then it will be interesting to see Shireen’s murder drama unfolding.
