Things are set to become even tougher for Lisa Swain on Coronation Street next week. She is torn between two individuals she truly cares about. Following all that she has endured, this new issue may worsen things at home.
Lisa Swain Faces a Tough Choice
The problem begins when Lisa‘s daughter, Betsy, gets accused of deceit over her claim of injury resulting from the previous week’s shootout. Carla Connor is the one who picks up on the first discrepancy. Carla’s flat, in a newly released spoiler scene, is where Betsy comes to unwind while acting like an employer towards her.
Initially, Carla complies with Betsy‘s demands. But then she notices something that makes her pause. Betsy employs her hurt arm without difficulty to grind some pepper onto her lunch.
Carla immediately realizes that Betsy may be faking, and she calls her out on it. A huge fight erupts just as Lisa enters and observes what is happening.
Lisa immediately takes Betsy’s side, but in doing so, she leaves a big question mark hanging—is she foolish to trust her daughter so readily?
Betsy’s Injury and What Really Happened in Coronation Street
The entire ordeal begins with the tragic shooting at Ken Barlow‘s residence. Betsy was caught in the middle when Lisa and Rob Donovan fought over a gun. In the course of the fight, the gun accidentally discharged, and a bullet struck Betsy on the arm.
Doctors subsequently cautioned that the wound might have lasting consequences, making Betsy all the more furious and vengeful in her desire to attack those she blamed.
Why Betsy Just Wants Her Mum’s Attention
Talking about Betsy‘s feelings, Sydney Martin, the actress who plays her, revealed that it was confusing for the teenager. Sydney explained that although Betsy dwelt a lot on who was responsible, what she actually desired was to have her mum prioritize her for once.
She explained that Lisa always had work on her mind and got herself into dangerous situations without considering what could go wrong, making their relationship complicated.
Sydney also told us that although Betsy cared for and admired Carla, her mom was her mom, ultimately. She liked being cared for by her mom, which she had previously missed, and things would become even more tense between the three of them. We will keep you posted on Soap Opera Daily about how the plot unravels in the future. Stay tuned!
