You thought Daisy Midgeley‘s explosive departure was it for the drama in Coronation Street, think again. Jenny Connor may be just catching her breath after that dramatic slap, but Weatherfield never remains silent for long—and a familiar face is ready to slide back into the limelight.
Christina Plans Her Return in Coronation Street
Inside Soap has exclusively announced that Daisy‘s interfering mum, Christina Boyd, will make a shocking comeback to Coronation Street later this year. Portrayed by Amy Robbins, the character isn’t particularly famous for keeping her head down—and this time around, she may be causing even more trouble than previously.
With Daisy‘s departure leaving Jenny devastated and the Rovers Return on the market, Christina senses opportunity—and perhaps a dash of revenge.
An insider for the show revealed that the con to rob Jenny blind may have gone wrong, but Christina is waiting patiently before she emerges from the woodwork to cause more trouble. Oh, Jenny… just when she thought things couldn’t possibly get any worse.
And here‘s a new idea—what if Christina swoops in as the surprise new owner of the Rovers? Imagine the expression on Jenny‘s face if she‘s made to serve pints to her arch-enemy. Would Christina toss her a lifeline out of sympathy? Ha! Don’t think so.
Amy Robbins Teases More Christina Antics Ahead
Amy Robbins originally took on Christina‘s drama–ridden shoes back in 2023, and since then has popped in and out of the cobbles, never without drama in her wake. Talking earlier this year, Amy joked that she was doing her best to keep Christina fun and fabulous enough to remain.
Well, it looks like that plan paid off—because the door for Christina is wide open.
The most recent episodes have already heated things up. On Monday (28 April), Daniel Osbourne caught Christina red-handed, being suspicious with not one, but two phones. When he confronted her, Daisy finally cracked and spilled the beans on their plan to scam Jenny.
Daniel, never one to be diplomatic, handed Daisy a blunt ultimatum: the con or him. And in classic Corrie fashion, Daisy did the unthinkable and chose the money pack—giving a shotgun goodbye to Daniel and calling an end to their relationship.
Her last episode is to air this Friday (2 May), Daisy‘s leaving the Street. But while a Midgeley exits, another is getting up to speed behind the scenes. Hold on to your seats, Coronation Street fans—Christina is coming back, and it won’t be pretty. Will Jenny make it through round two? We will keep you posted on Soap Opera Daily. Until then, stay tuned!
