She is married to Coronation Street fan favourite Jane Hazelgrove. She plays Bernie Winter in the soap. They married in 2015 after being together for 20 years. In 2019, Jane expressed her obsession with her wife, calling her amazing and beautiful in an interview.
When the Coronation Street Facebook fan group shared the photo of the couple, fans were surprised to discover their marriage. A fan wrote that as if Bernie from Corrie is married to the detective in Emmerdale. Another soap enthusiast added that they didn’t know that. The third one chimed, calling them a gorgeous couple.
