Charlotte Jordan is moving on to new things. Having played Daisy Midgeley on Coronation Street, the popular actress is moving on to pastures new. While Charlotte’s last episodes as Daisy are imminent, she has made her fans speculate about what is coming next, until now. In a recent outing on This Morning, she teased massive plans ahead and spoke about her experience navigating one of Britain’s favorite soaps.
“It’s Time for a Fresh Start,” Says Charlotte
Talking to This Morning presenter Sharon Marshall, Charlotte explained she had been planning her exit for a while. She admitted she was nervous and excited about what the future held. Charlotte said it just seemed the right time to go, explaining that she’d accomplished most of the traditional soap storylines and was ready for a change.
She pointed out that the Coronation Street crew had been very supportive of her decision, even teasing that she had expected a more sensational response to leaving. Charlotte commented that she felt fortunate to have had such a complex and detailed character as Daisy. However, she admitted that Weatherfield had given Daisy no shortage of trauma and chaos.
Looking back on her stint on the show, Charlotte explained how much she appreciated being there and working with the people she had worked with. She also thanked producer Kate Brooks for being kind and generous with Daisy’s impending departure storyline, which she hinted would be a fairytale sendoff for the character.
Charlotte confirmed that while she’s temporarily leaving the cobbles, it’s not necessarily a goodbye forever. She called Coronation Street a truly special place and indicated that the door is open for a possible future return.
Charlotte Confirms Role in Another After Coronation Street
When Sharon questioned Charlotte about speculation about returning to a long-running programme, Charlotte confirmed the fans’ guesses: she’s going to be in The Archers on BBC Radio 4.
She revealed she couldn’t say too much about her new job but did drop one telling detail—her character is likely to cause upset. Charlotte revealed she’ll begin very soon and hinted at her future role by saying it will “ruffle some feathers.”
As fans are set to delight in Daisy’s explosive departure on Coronation Street this week, Charlotte’s own future is already looking no less compelling. Making the switch from television to radio drama may be a surprise, but given her ability and dramatic flair, it’s clear she’s well equipped to make a lasting impression in Ambridge.
