Ted and Eva have both seen her tactics up close. They recognize how quickly she distorts reality to fit her agenda. Therefore, despite what the paper prints, the suspicion building among viewers, and perhaps characters, is that Leslie may have made up the whole story to fit her objective: getting herself and Eva a position in the Dupree legacy.

If the DNA test was fabricated, then the consequences will be huge. Nicole’s world, already torn apart, could collapse further when she learns she suffered for nothing. Ted’s guilt would shift from secret-keeper to innocent victim. And Eva, who’s already emotionally caught between two worlds, would be left grappling with a truth that undoes everything she believed.
More significantly, however, it would reveal just how far Leslie is willing to manipulate those around her. She’s already pulled some shocking moves, but if she forged the DNA results, this would mark a new low, even for her.
