EastEnders Actress Speaks About Embracing Older Women on Television
EastEnders star Michelle Collins joined the BBC Breakfast team on Monday. She spoke about her comeback and her Edinburgh Festival debut in August with the one-woman show Motorhome Marilyn.
Collins opened up about how soap operas like EastEnders are doing such a fantastic job of empowering older women. She said, “I’m just happy that we are embracing older women on screen.” Michelle further added how important and big it is, and that is why her character was brought back.
“Why can’t we be ambitious at my age as well and be scared and out of our comfort zone?” she added. Collins also added that Cindy is referred to as “The Queen of Chaos”, and she loved the drama in her life. “But she’s a multifaceted figure; she’s a strong woman,” Collins added.
She further added that ‘Cindy is very unapologetic, and she does not fear to speak the truth. Not everyone likes her truth, but still, they sort of love to possibly hate her.’ “Listen – nobody’s perfect. Every woman has their flaws,” Michelle exclaimed.
Cindy Reveals The Truth
In the upcoming episode, Cindy will ruin the engagement by revealing the truth about Kathy being her attacker. She regrets it soon when Ian decides to reveal that she shot him and threw him in front of Riess’s high-speed car.
Which eventually caused the explosion at the Vic. She will be upset to know that Lauren and Peter already knew the truth of all this and will leave the party. Later, he will try to make some amends with Laura.
Cindy will decide to go to her flat and speak but will be shocked to see her going into labour when she reaches there.
