EastEnders actress Lorraine Stanley has opened up about how she has been struggling to find a new job since last year. Lorraine used to play the role of Karen Taylor on the soap. EastEnders actress Lorraine has shared her very honest yet brutal take on finding a job. She took to her social media, where she posted a funny picture of herself with huge glasses alongside a caption where she wrote how she has been struggling to find a job since last year.
Lorraine wrote, “I didn’t get the job, but at least I still got my good looks and sense of humour.” She further explained that it still gave her some confidence boost as she got good feedback. “So onwards and upwards,” she added.
The soap star started playing Karen back in 2017. Later in 2018 she even received the British Soap Award for the Best Newcomer in 2018. And in 2019 she earned Inside Soap Awards for the Funniest Female of the Year. Lorraine told the Sun that she will not make a comeback to the soap in any hurry. She added that she is done with soap for now.
“Once you’ve done a soap, you’ve done a soap,” she exclaimed. Lorraine further said, “At the moment I’m auditioning; I’m just doing self-tapes, which is soul-destroying.” The actress added that it feels horrible and she is bad at it.
Lorraine also shocked her fans recently with a huge transformation. She shared her before and after picture and shared that she has been making a ‘healthy choice’. After her exit from the soap, she acted with her legendary soap stars in the British film ‘Departure’.
