Secrets, Scandals and a Love on the Line
Theo’s relationship with Todd Grimshaw was fiery, but it wasn’t long before the trouble reared its head. Todd found out that Theo was married with two teenagers. His wife, Danielle, had no idea he was gay, before catching him kissing Todd.
Theo attempted to mend fences at home and informed Todd they were through. However, when Danielle called Todd in a panic to inform him Theo had disappeared, the cracks began to open up.
Theo later reappeared on the cobblestones under the influence and in a rage, and had a brawl with Mick Michaelis. Fortunately, Billy Mayhew got there in time and escorted him off to Roy’s for a much-needed break.
There, Theo confessed he believed his family would be better off without him. Todd and Billy reminded him that there was no shame in who he was—but Theo’s next confession left them stunned.
Coronation Street: A Past He Can’t Escape
There, Theo revealed that he was brought up in a very religious household and had been forced to undergo conversion therapy during his teenage years. The experience continued to haunt him and left him grappling with accepting who he was, even as he felt about Todd.
Todd and Billy were shocked to know what he’d been put through. But before Theo could prepare himself for the future, the past took a walk into the Rovers. In upcoming scenes, a man named Noah enters and greets Billy. Theo times him in an instant, freaks out, and flees. Later, he informs Todd that Noah was there during his conversion therapy, somebody who had witnessed that traumatic episode of his life.
Now, Theo is shaken. Just when he was opening up and trying to get his life back on track, he’s confronted with the baddest part of his own past. Can Todd assist him in getting through it—or will this push Theo back into the shadows?
