Gary Windass hasn’t had the most tranquil 2025 on Coronation Street, and now it looks as though things are going to go even more out of hand. And who might just find themselves caught in the midst of it all? David Platt, that’s who.
David’s Comeback Ties Him to Current Mick Chaos
Jack P. Shepherd has just come back to Coronation Street filming after his Celebrity Big Brother win, and it seems as though David won’t be finding things quiet when he returns. Jack revealed at the British Soap Awards that his character is being caught up in the ongoing repercussions of Mick Michaelis’s story.
Although the drama is not David’s per se, it was Jack who explained he’s involved “in a way” and went on to state that Mick is “still doing naughty, bad things.”
That sentence alone suggests there’s more to the story with Mick, and David might be nearer the flames than he knows.
But it gets dark when Jack reveals another plot he’s involved in, one with Gary Windass. “Something goes wrong with Gary,” he revealed, indicating that David will also be entangled in all that drama. All details thus far have stayed under wraps, but safe to say, a storm is brewing.
Gary Windass Is in Trouble in Coronation Street
Gary’s year began slowly, the character being off-screen in January through to late April. But since he got back, his plots have been turning up the heat again. He’s had to contend with menacing Mick, whose threats against Gary and foster son Liam Connor brought huge tension at the builder’s yard.
Mick was later taken in custody over Craig Tinker’s murder, providing a temporary respite from the violence. However, with Jack now threatening “something bad” for Gary, it appears Gary’s woes aren’t done yet. Whether this has anything to do with Mick or an alternative threat isn’t yet clear.
Jack confirmed he’s shooting scenes that connect him to both Mick and Gary’s next crisis. That puts him in a precarious position as both storylines unfold. It wouldn’t be the first time David was pulled into messes that weren’t his. But how much will he ultimately pay for it?
