It’s getting complicated on Coronation Street. While Kevin Webster has his eye on his treatment and his health, his half-brother Carl and wife Abi have been seeing more of each other than ever. It was harmless, at first… but now things are getting in the way, and not everyone is being truthful about them.
A Tense Dynamic That’s Hard to Ignore
Carl Webster and Abi Franklin have been getting closer the past few weeks, and their chemistry was evident. Carl is Kevin’s half-brother, and he obviously feels something more, and it all boiled down recently when he attempted to kiss Abi. She pushed him away, but the moment changed something between them.
To avoid any suspicion, Carl started seeing Tracy McDonald, though it’s clear his focus hasn’t changed. In Wednesday’s episode, the three were at the hospital, discussing Kevin’s health. The atmosphere changed when Tracy boldly flirted with Carl, making Abi uncomfortable, even though she covered it by referring to Tracy as “trouble with a capital T.”
Coronation Street: Mixed Signals and Unspoken Feelings
Abi then cautioned Tracy that Carl had some history and wasn’t the settling-down kind. Carl soon discovered and questioned Abi as to why she was interfering. She said she didn’t want him to get hurt, but Carl suspected more jealousy on her part.
Abi claimed she was married happily, but Carl wasn’t letting it drop. He informed her that whatever it was between them was something, and Tracy was nothing but a distraction. He insisted he still had feelings for her. Abi warned him to keep back or she’d be truthful with Kevin, but Carl didn’t want to leave.
He came back again to explain how he felt, and Abi now appeared torn this time around. Before things could go any further, her phone rang. Abi received a call from the hospital, Kevin had fainted. She immediately went over there and later found out he’d caught an infection. Although he was okay, the experience left Abi shaken, given what had nearly occurred earlier that day.
Carl wasn’t having a good day either. A customer appeared at the garage challenging one of his counterfeit MOTs, and after another embarrassing encounter with Abi, she told him sternly to go “back to Germany.”
