Sarah Sugden recently discovered that she had cervical cancer. When she got her eligibility tests done, the doctors informed her about her cervical cancer, but also assured her that she could still have a baby through IVF. She met Jacob and told him about her condition, but didn’t tell Charity Dingle. Though she told her that she wanted to have a baby through IVF, she didn’t disclose her illness.
In the upcoming episodes, Charity Dingle decides to answer Sarah’s phone call. When Charity picks up the call, she is shocked to learn that a staff member from Hotten General has called. When they talk, the grandmother gets stunned as she knows that Sarah has cervical cancer. Charity is shocked not only because of her illness but also because of Sarah’s silence. She thought that the true relationship was strong enough for Sarah to share anything with her.
Charity Is Furious!
When Charity confronts Sarah, she furiously tells her that she has learned about her cervical cancer. Sarah can’t go back now. She tried hard to hide everything from her and also had to face Jacob’s anger as she broke her promise to tell the truth to Charity, but now the truth is out. However, Charity won’t leave her like that and would support her during her treatment.
Before this, Sarah attends an egg retrieval procedure as she wants to have a baby despite her condition. When Dr. Knapp informs her that they have retrieved a suitable number of eggs to check the viability, the teenager feels relieved and happy.
