Aadi Alahan has been keeping things steady at the shop while Dev’s away in Coronation Street, but a conversation with his friends leaves Bernie concerned. Her reaction could be the start of something bigger, just as Aadi’s storyline appears to be heading for a turning point.
Bernie Smells Something Fishy
With Dev out in India at the moment, Aadi has stepped up and is running the shop. He’s worked hard restocking shelves, dealing with customers, and attempting to prove himself. But things become complicated when Bernie overhears Aadi talking to Amy and Summer.
As Dev’s partner, she’s become familiar with Aadi and his sister Asha, and she’s always kept an eye on their well-being. At this moment, however, something doesn’t feel quite right.
To Bernie, Aadi sounds rather like a man in his mid-forties than a wee lad in Weatherfield. His concern with routine and duty feels somewhat too much, too soon.
Still mourning her son Paul, Bernie realizes just how valuable time is and how quickly it passes. So she urges Aadi to take a break, take the day off, and be with his mates while he can.
A Change of Pace for Aadi in Coronation Street
To her surprise, Aadi listens. He speaks freely with Amy and Summer about needing to have a party. As viewers may already know, Adam Hussain is set to leave Coronation Street in the coming weeks. With that in mind, Aadi’s sudden desire to live a little could be the first step in his exit storyline.
Luckily, there is no need for fans to worry excessively. In a post on Instagram, Adam made it clear that Aadi won’t be killed off, explaining, “This isn’t a goodbye for Aadi however, more of a see you later!”
In the same post, Adam revealed more about making the move. “I will be saying goodbye to Coronation Street for pastures new,” he said. He further stated that after five years on the show, he was now ready for new challenges.
He also thanked the crew and cast, adding he’s gained lifelong friends and will miss being on such a special team. “Thanks Coronation Street for so much giving me the privilege to play this character for you. Till next time!”
