Sarah Sugden has been living with Fanconi anaemia. Due to her short lifespan, she decided to have a baby through IVF. Earlier, she thought that she was pregnant, but soon learned that it wasn’t true. After her breakup, she decided to have a baby. However, during her eligibility tests, she learned that she had cervical cancer. Sarah has dealt with this disease earlier, too, so she is trying to stay positive. She said that she would focus on her baby.
However, in the last week, Sarah Sugden’s cancer operation went wrong. The doctor informed her that she couldn’t carry a child. Meanwhile, before the surgery, Sarah and Charity spoke to each other. The mechanic was grateful to her grandmother and said that she was better than her actual mother, Debbie. However, when they talked about IVF, Sarah realised that Charity’s expressions changed as she wasn’t happy with her decision. Then Sarah went for surgery. Cain Dingle consoled Charity as she felt bad due to her words.

Elsewhere, later, the doctor informed Cain and Charity that the surgery went wrong. Due to this and Fanconi Anaemia, they had to have a hysterectomy. Sarah knew that she wouldn’t give birth to a baby. Meanwhile, the actor Katie Hill, who plays Sarah, reflected on her soap journey. She shared that when she came on the show, she was a kid. Earlier, she couldn’t get involved in the adult conversations, but now Emma Atkins is her friend.
The actor said that everyone is like a family. If she ever needs help, they are always there to help her. Katie also spoke on the Dingles WhatsApp group chat. It is called 12 Angry Dingles. They kept it after Lydia’s storyline. She said she wants her on-screen parents, Charley Webb and Kelvin Fletcher, to come back. Charley, who played Debbie, left the soap in 2021.
She said that she has never met Kelvin, who exited the show in 2016. The actor said she would like to explore her relationship with him.
