In the latest episode, Joe Tate woke up in a makeshift hospital as Shaun attacked him with a shovel on his head before he could leave the village. He felt completely paralysed from the neck down. Meanwhile, Dr.Crowley was looming over him. Thus, it was clear that Dr. Crowley kidnapped him. He even joked that it was their follow-up appointment after the illegal kidney transplant.
Meanwhile, when Joe asked what was going on, Dr.Crowley told him that he had given him an epidural. He said that he used his concoction of drugs to stop Joe from moving. He even admitted that he was the one who stole the pills and left the letter. The sector added that he has an addictive personality, hinting that he needed money. Crowley had been barred from the medical profession, so he wanted Joe to pay his debt.

However, he added that he never mentioned Joe, so he owed him money. Though Joe told him that he had nothing left, Dr.Crowley held a scalpel and was ready to use it if Joe didn’t obey him. Elsewhere, Dawn kept sending messages, thinking that Joe was at Monaco for work. Joe wasn’t surprised to see Shaun there. The doctor told Joe to transfer the contents of his account to him if he wants to keep his kidney. Then they went for lunch, leaving Joe anxious.
When they returned, Joe begged him not to cut him and eventually agreed to transfer his money to the surgeon. Crowley told Shaun to take Joe home. But Joe told him that if he ever sees him, he will get his money back. But the surgeon warned him not to do the same thing again with him.
