Just when Roo finally thought she and Cohen were settling into a proper little family, someone new walks in and threatens to ruin everything. Roo’s gone from trying to help a scared little boy to genuinely wanting to adopt him, but this week in Home and Away, that dream gets turned upside down.
Things Were Finally Looking Up
If you’ve been watching lately, you’ll know Roo didn’t exactly plan to become a foster mum. But when Cohen’s mum Samantha was arrested for stealing, Roo took the boy in. It was rough at first, he didn’t trust her, didn’t want to open up but she stayed patient, and slowly he started to feel safe.
And it paid off. Their bond grew stronger with time, and in a recent episode, Roo even told Cohen she wanted to adopt him. He wasn’t too sure at first, but he eventually agreed. It was such a sweet moment, felt like they were finally becoming a real family. But of course, this is Home and Away, nothing stays peaceful for too long.
A Stranger Throws Everything Into Chaos
Out of nowhere, this bloke shows up at the police station claiming he’s Cohen’s dad. Yep. He wants a DNA test and brings proof to back up his story. The moment that happens, Roo’s adoption plan gets put on hold. The police tell her they can’t move forward until the results come back.
Roo’s fuming. She storms down to the station to try and get some answers. But it only gets worse, she runs into the man himself. His name’s Adrian, and he’s holding a baby photo that seems to hit Roo hard. You can tell she’s starting to panic. Later, she takes Cohen out for a walk, trying to keep things normal and not say a word about the drama. But she doesn’t get the chance to protect him for long.
Home and Away: Cohen’s World Gets Shaken
While they’re out, Adrian spots them and starts yelling Cohen’s name. The poor kid looks completely confused, he has no idea who this man is or what’s going on. Nathan Murray, who plays Cohen, explained that from the boy’s point of view, it just felt like some stranger was trying to take him away from the only person who’s ever cared for him.
Roo’s had enough by this point. She’s absolutely livid and calls Cash Newman over to step in. But Cohen is clearly rattled. You can see the fear in his face, and all he wants is for Roo to tell him everything’s going to be okay.
With the DNA test hanging over them and the adoption plans frozen, Roo’s facing the very real fear of losing Cohen. She’s worked so hard to give him a stable home, and now that might all be ripped away, just like that. The big question now is, how far will Roo go to fight for this little boy she’s come to love like her own?
