The Dales are about to welcome some familiar faces from Coronation Street, and this autumn’s return of a much-loved drama promises to surprise fans. Viewers can expect new arrivals, plenty of charm, and a few unexpected soap icons stepping into a whole new world.

Coming From Coronation Street and Beyond

Chris Gascoyne is best known to Coronation Street fans as Peter Barlow, a role he first took on in the early 2000s. For over twenty years, Peter became central to Corrie’s biggest stories; his long battle with alcoholism, the unforgettable tram crash, his fiery romance with Carla, and his constant clashes within the Barlow family. After leaving the soap in 2023, Gascoyne is now turning the page.

Lucy-Jo Hudson also comes with strong soap credentials. She first appeared on Coronation Street as Katy Harris, before later taking on the role of Donna-Marie Quinn in Hollyoaks. Earlier this year, she teased fans about an exciting new project. She later revealed it was All Creatures Great and Small, describing the show as a place full of countryside charm and storytelling magic. Joining them is Philip Martin Brown, another familiar face from British TV, and spent nearly a decade as teacher Grantly Budgen in Waterloo Road.

Stars Head to the Dales

The big news is out. Chris Gascoyne, Lucy-Jo Hudson, and Philip Martin Brown are joining the cast of All Creatures Great and Small for its sixth season on Channel 5. For Gascoyne, it’s a huge change as the setting is much different than Coronation Street, set in the rural life of 1945, as the Second World War comes to an end.
