Since then, he has been holding him captive in an underground bunker in the woods. Though Mack praised him and tried to get rid of him, he tried to get John later. Thus, the medic doesn’t trust him. Meanwhile, John recently found out that his husband, Aaron, was dubious of him.
In the recent episode, he visited Mackenzie Boyd in the bunker. He told Charity’s husband that he had been secretly finding information on his phone. Mack wanted to talk about his wife, but the medic had some other things on his mind. He asked Mackenzie whether he knew who had left a message for him. He told him Aaron wanted to ask his advice about him and Robert. Furthermore, Aaron wanted to ask if being with him was a mistake.

Then John Sugden disclosed to him that he would spike Aaron’s drink and trick him into drinking it. He said that the overdose would make him ill, so John would get another opportunity to take care of him. This would make him realise how much he needs the medic.
John Sugden added that he doesn’t trust Aaron’s words anymore, especially after Robert’s comeback in his life. However, he will be under his control soon. Though Mack told him that he was risking John’s life by spiking his drink and giving him an overdose, especially after what happened to Nate Robinson, John wouldn’t listen.
