Cain Dingle had been away from the village. He went to meet his daughter Debbie in Australia. He left when Moira Dingle was in emotional turmoil due to the firm. Nate’s murder case was over. Meanwhile, during Cain’s absence, John and Aaron went into a holiday cottage. However, the soap followers learned that it was John’s childhood home.
Aaron would have moved out of the cottage, but when he saw the bedroom, he again got caught up. Instead of leaving, he agreed to John’s suggestion of moving into the cottage permanently. He also told him that they would renovate the place. However, soon the medic’s partner found that John was connected to Mackenzie. He saw Mackenzie’s phone among the medic’s belongings. Thus, Aaron realised that Charity’s husband was in trouble. He tried to escape and drive back home, but Aaron had overdosed. Soon, John found him and took him back.

However, when John went to Mack, Aaron went to the woods and started looking for Mack. Meanwhile, John told Mack that they won’t see each other anymore. He gave him a syringe and said that he could inject himself and end his life anytime.
Then the medic left him all alone. The soap fans know that Mackenzie needs help. Aaron tried to find his best friend but ended up at the end of the gorge. Then John confronted him and saw Robert, too. He was angry, so he grabbed his partner in his arms and jumped off the gorge along with him.
Robert called the ambulance. Later, Chas learned that Aaron was in a coma due to the bleeding in his brain. Meanwhile, John got a few ribs broken. Elsewhere, Cain arrived earlier than expected. He surprised Moira. However, when he learned about John and Aaron, he rushed to the hospital. He found Chas and Sam. Cain hugged Chas.
