The Hawthorne family in Beyond the Gates has already delivered plenty of drama, but another member is about to arrive and stir things up even further. His entry promises to test relationships, change the family dynamics, and open up an entirely new chapter for Beyond the Gates.
Setting The Stage With The Hawthornes
In recent months, the Hawthornes have become a central thread in Beyond the Gates. Jacob Hawthorne, played by Jibere Hordges, and his wife Naomi, portrayed by Arielle Prepetit, have firmly established themselves in Fairmount Crest. Their ties run even deeper thanks to Naomi’s connection to the Duprees, who sit at the heart of the soap’s ongoing drama. Their father, Elon, serves as the chief of police, while their mother, Darlene, holds her own role as a dispatcher.

Alongside Jacob, the family also includes another brother, Luke, all of whom contribute to Fairmont Crest’s complex web of power and secrets. It is within this established backdrop that a new character will soon enter, someone tied to the Hawthorne family but carrying his own unique energy. Series creator and head writer Michelle Val Jean teased that he represents a very different side of the clan and is not cut from the same cloth as Jacob.
Beyond the Gates: Here Comes Izaiah Hawthorne
This fall, viewers will meet Izaiah Hawthorne, portrayed by David Lami Friebe. Val Jean revealed that while his connection to the Hawthorne family makes him familiar, he stands apart. This will surprise both his relatives and the audience. She emphasized that he is not Jacob by any means, marking him as a disruptive yet compelling addition. The head writer also hinted that Izaiah’s arrival will stir romance in Fairmount Crest.

Though she refused to name the female character, Val Jean confirmed otherwise. She shared that Izaiah will step in as a new love interest. Fans won’t be left in suspense for long, as his debut set to air shortly. Adding another layer to his storyline, Izaiah will also hold a unique role within the community. Val Jean shared that he will work as a counselor at Banneker University.
CBS already teased Izaiah’s arrival earlier this week when the fall daytime schedule was announced. The preview suggested that he will quickly build two complicated relationships while dealing with his own family baggage.
