Not one to give up, Jenny turned up at the undertakers with mop in hand, hoping to score some points by helping out.
Instead, she walked in to find Christina already doing the job. Hurt and humiliated, Jenny slipped away quietly. Glenda, ever the schemer, decided to step in. With Speed Daal’s dating night on the horizon, she came up with a cheeky plan to rig the draw, making sure Jenny would get first pick of the men, and George was clearly the one Jenny wanted. Jenny agreed, convinced this would finally give her the upper hand.
Rita’s Fall Turns The Tables in Coronation Street
But just as Glenda started pulling names, Jenny’s phone rang. On the other end was Rita, who revealed she’d had a fall. Jenny’s heart sank, and she raced to her surrogate mum’s side, instantly forgetting about the dating night plot.
In her panic, Jenny exaggerated Rita’s injury when she told George, making it sound far more serious than it really was. Her plan worked, George showed up at Rita’s flat with soup and plenty of concern.
But Jenny soon realised she’d overplayed it and rushed him out before he discovered the truth. Her lie didn’t hold for long. Brian Packham casually mentioned that Rita only had a sprained ankle, leaving George feeling misled.
Jenny, feeling guilty, owned up. She admitted she had twisted the truth to get George’s attention and said that, after everything she’s been through, she missed the comfort of being cared for. Rita, never one to sugar-coat her words, gave Jenny a stern talk. Jenny’s emotional confession touched her, but Rita made it clear that she had crossed a line.
