Phil’s Promise To Help Nigel In EastEnders
Phil Mitchell hears some really shocking news about his best friend. He discovers that Nigel Bates had a terrible car accident. Besides that, things get even more serious when he hears that Nigel might be put behind bars. As Phil considers it necessary to get involved and help, he cannot remember any other reason apart from the fact that Nigel is like a brother to him.
However, when he was briefed about the entire incident, he was furious at Julie. He accused her of causing Nigel’s state and of letting the situation get out of hand. Yet, he finds out that it was his mistake to blame her. In fact, Julie not only arranged the blame for Nigel but also took the blame to protect him. She informed the police that it was she driving the vehicle, not Nigel.
But Nigel refused to let Julie take the blame. So, he admitted that he was driving during the accident. Nigel had taken Jack Branning’s help, and so Jack explained everything to Phil.. He assures Phil that Julie had pure intentions and that she only wanted to protect her husband. After this, Nigel felt guilty for being rude to Julie.
He then apologises to her and calls Ritchie. Ritchie is the lawyer whom he can always rely on, and he wants her to handle Nigel’s case. He is confident that she can rescue Nigel from jail; it would be Ritchie. However, she knows Nigel has dementia and shouldn’t have been driving.
Can Nigel Escape His Fear?
Nigel’s health is fading, and guilt haunts him. Elsewhere, Julie blames herself for what happened. Phil steps in to help, but he’s struggling too. Then Phil takes Nigel for a medical assessment, and his results will determine his punishment. And according to the spoilers, Nigel’s verdict is around the corner.
Will he walk free? Or is this the end of his journey? Phil remains supportive and is constantly by his side, not ready to see another friend go down the drain emotionally. He has already been a witness to and partly responsible for too many disasters in his lifetime. Yet the authorities’ involvement limits him to a certain point.
