The Video That Revealed Too Much
An extra who plays a medic on the show posted a short TikTok video while filming on the famous cobbles. It seemed harmless until viewers spotted something in the background that stood out. A memorial filled with flowers and sympathy cards appeared outside Billy Mayhew’s flat, sparking instant speculation about what it could mean. Fans quickly jumped to conclusions online. One said, “This is probably Billy’s demise,” while another added, “It’s got to be him.”
Others noticed the decorations looked festive and guessed the scenes could air around Christmas. Some fans even linked it to the ongoing Theo storyline, suggesting Todd Grimshaw’s abusive boyfriend might be involved in Billy’s possible death. “Theo probably runs him over,” one viewer wrote. The video was deleted soon after, but not before screenshots spread across social media.
Daniel Brocklebank’s Exit Confirms the Theories
Soon after the clip made rounds online, The Sun confirmed that Daniel Brocklebank, who plays Billy, had already finished filming his final scenes. According to reports, the decision to end his storyline was creative, and his exit will mark “the end of an era” on Coronation Street.
Daniel, who joined the soap in 2014, has already started rehearsals for Young Frankenstein at the Liverpool Everyman Playhouse.
Daniel said he’s loved every moment of working on Corrie and has never once dreaded going into work. While sad to leave, he shared that he’s also excited to start something new.
