Todd Grimshaw has no idea what’s creeping up on him, but things on Coronation Street are lining up in a way that’s about to throw his whole work life into chaos. It’s one of those situations where everything looks normal on the surface, but you can feel the trouble bubbling underneath, especially with Theo lurking around.

Everything Looks Fine Until It Doesn’t

George Shuttleworth recently stressed how crucial the upcoming funeral of a local councillor would be, urging Todd to perform at his absolute best. He told Todd that the occasion would be the closest thing Weatherfield gets to a state funeral, and even noted that the mayor would be there. The weight of the responsibility clearly left Todd determined to meet expectations.

CS/ George is stressed

But while Todd focused on the preparations, Theo Silverton spent time at the Rovers with Gary Windass. Gary mentioned he had been doing jobs for Pete Lang and encouraged Theo to smooth things over with Pete so he could secure more work.

This conversation brings more tension once Todd and George later joined them at the pub, with George insisting they all stick to just one drink and head home early to stay sharp for Councillor Drake’s funeral. Todd grew uncomfortable when he learned Theo might consider doing business with Pete, the same man Theo had cheated with.

CS/ Theo kept pushing Todd

Theo responded that they couldn’t afford to be choosy, brushing aside Todd’s concerns. Even after George reminded Todd again about the importance of the next day, Theo pushed for one more drink. He even questioned why Todd treated George as if he were a father figure. Todd defended George as someone who felt like family and emphasized how much the day meant to him.

Theo’s Cruel Plan Comes to Light

Despite Todd’s hesitation, Theo convinced him to stay, ordering vodka tonics and making Todd’s a double when he asked Ben Driscoll to prepare the drinks. By the time they returned home, Todd was noticeably drunk and ready to collapse on the sofa. While Todd slept, Theo spotted a message from George reminding Todd to wake at 7:30am and promising to call to ensure he was prepared for the big funeral.

CS/ Theo manipulates Todd

Instead of helping, Theo deliberately sabotaged him by switching off his phone charger, guaranteeing the alarm wouldn’t go off. It marked the first clear sign of how far Theo intended to push his revenge. Next week’s episodes reveal that Theo doesn’t stop there. He escalates the scheme by throwing all of Todd’s clean white shirts into the wash right before the funeral. When the morning arrives, Todd is not only late but also without anything suitable to wear for such a significant event.

Todd’s professional credibility is now at risk, and Theo’s game is growing more twisted by the day. The question now is whether Todd will eventually connect the dots. Theo’s calculated actions place Todd in increasingly impossible situations. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street news and spoilers.
