Carla and Lisa hoped to rebuild has been slipping through their fingers ever since Becky forced her way back into their lives in Coronation Street. Every day has brought a new wave of tension, emotional pressure, and strategic meddling, and now the situation reaches a point that leaves their relationship hanging by a thread.
Becky’s Comeback Brings Trouble Right Back With It
Ever since Becky Swain walked back into Weatherfield, very much alive, she’s made it clear she wants Lisa back. She hasn’t bothered to hide it, even though Lisa has moved on, gotten engaged to Carla, and is trying to build a new life. We saw the first big red flag at the Halloween party, when Becky decided to play the wedding song she once shared with Lisa. That alone was awkward enough, but then she leaned in for a kiss.
Carla tried to take it in stride, telling herself that Lisa and Becky had years of history, and of course messy emotions would pop up. But things got harder to ignore when Becky suddenly claimed she needed to move in with them. She said “bad people” had found her address and were threatening her. Carla didn’t believe a word of it. She could see Becky using fear to wedge herself between them.
When Becky Turns Up the Drama in Coronation Street
Then Becky announced someone sent her a funeral wreath that read, “Rest in Peace, Again!” She met with Costello about it, saying she wanted to know who was behind the threat. But instead of calming things down, she took a photo of Costello’s daughter and sent it to him, clearly to scare him. Kit overheard Costello taking a call from Becky, and when Costello later got attacked, Kit started putting the pieces together.
He went straight to Lisa with his suspicions, but with everything going on emotionally, it’s anyone’s guess whether she believed him. From there, Becky moved on to her boldest stunt. She found out that Carla and Lisa had plans for lunch, so she parked herself on the street pretending to be drunk and heartbroken. She said she was drinking to numb the pain of losing everything. And of course, Lisa being Lisa, couldn’t just leave her there.
Lisa took her home, and Becky slipped upstairs for a shower. And right at the worst possible moment, Carla arrived. Down comes Becky in Lisa’s bathrobe. The timing couldn’t have been more deliberate. Carla told Becky to get out immediately. But when she looked to Lisa to back her up, nothing. Not a word. And that silence cut deep. That was it for Carla. She’d reached her limit.
