If you’ve been wondering why Bobby Crawford suddenly went off on holiday and never came back, you’re not alone. His disappearance had a lot of Corrie fans scratching their heads — and now Jack Carroll is finally talking about what really happened, without giving anything away too soon.

Bobby’s Exit Makes More Sense Now

Jack explained that the quiet goodbye was actually something he preferred. He said the show has been doing more low-key exits lately because it gives them room to bring characters back if needed. He sounded genuinely grateful that they didn’t go dramatic or kill Bobby off, saying the gentle send-off suited what he needed at the time. Still, leaving after only 18 months wasn’t easy for him. Jack talked about how huge Coronation Street is and called it a privilege to be part of something so iconic.

He also mentioned that everyone behind the scenes was lovely, which made the decision to go even harder. Because of that, he appreciated that his exit kept the door open. He liked leaving in a way where he could return if the timing and story ever lined up again, which definitely keeps possibilities alive for fans hoping to see Bobby back on the cobbles.

Jack’s New Chapter Begins After Coronation Street

Now that he’s finished his Corrie run, Jack has jumped straight into something exciting. He’s launching a brand-new national stand-up tour next year. Many people still remember him from Britain’s Got Talent, when he became a breakout star at just 14. And now, he’s definitely bringing that same energy back to the stage. The tour is called The Fall Guy and starts in Bradford in February. From there, he’ll hit 22 cities before wrapping up in Stockton in November 2026, so it’s a big one.

Jack said that people who’ve seen him on TV shouldn’t expect a huge shift in style. He explained that disability will still be the main lens he uses to talk about life. He recalled when he first joined Corrie, the writers worked hard to match Bobby’s early scenes with his stand-up vibes. Jack felt that those moments gave fans a pretty good preview of what they’ll see from him on tour. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all your Coronation Street updates.
