Lauren Makes A Big Mistake In EastEnders
Lauren Branning and Peter returned home from their honeymoon. And soon inform Ian, Cindy and Kathy that a few people contacted them about new treatments for children with visual impairments. Lauren and Peter’s son Jimmy, was born visually impaired. And because of this, Lauren used to blame herself as he took some painkillers during pregnancy.
However, later the doctor informed her that it was not due to her addiction. Elsewhere, Peter tells Lauren that it’s all a scam. And even Ian, Cindy, and Kathy agree with him. However, Lauren is still stuck on the idea. She soon takes an appointment with one of the doctors who had contacted her. After the call, she sees some hope for Jimmy. The treatment, however, was priced at £3,000. And then she thinks about Ian and believes he might be of some help.
However, even he refuses to help her. Now, Lauren is left all alone and has nowhere to turn. But then she makes a sudden decision to get the money. She had made up her mind that if this treatment were successful, Jimmy’s eyes would be alright. But soon her world takes a dark turn when she realises that what her family had warned her of was actually true. The doctor was a scammer. She has lost the money and now worries what will happen if Peter ever finds out what she has done.
Elsewhere, Peter notices that something is bothering her. And Lauren needed someone who would not judge. And unexpectedly, she receives support from Ian Beale. They have not been so close. However, Ian notices her troubles, and he steps in to help.
Ian Becomes An Unlikely Ally
Next week, Peter sees Ian and Lauren talking secretly. Peter gets suspicious, but when Lauren gets a hint that Peter is around, she quickly covers it up. Even Ian knows that if Peter learns it would be dangerous. And so he helps her to keep the situation under control.
