Sabrina Carpenter’s latest bop, “Espresso,” has just received a golden nod from none other than Adele. During her Las Vegas residency show on Saturday, Adele amazed the audience by singing a few lines from Sabrina’s new single. The Skyfall singer revealed she could really relate to the song and declared it her new “jam.” It turns out Sabrina got on cloud nine upon hearing about it and jumped in to respond. Check out!
Carpenter took to X/Twitter to react to a Pop Base post about Adele’s praise. She wrote, “All I read was Adele thinks about me in bed <3” Moreover, Sabrina’s cheeky response is in line with her playful “Nonsense” outros. For instance, on the SNL finale, she sang, ‘He is 30 Rock hard ’cause I said ‘Hi’/ My sense of humor is. She added, “But I am not dry/ SNL, I just came for the first time.”
On Instagram, the Sue Me hitmaker dropped a clip of Adele singing “Espresso.” She captioned it, “Um guys, can someone check on me?” Back to Adele, the Oscar-winning singer mentioned that during her bedtime, she found singing, “I’m working late, ’cause I’m a singer.” Adele added, “I can’t relate to desperation. That song is my jam!” Furthermore, Adele revealed that Espresso came out when she couldn’t f—ing talk or sing.
“So… all last night and this morning, that’s what I’ve been singing.” She continued that from tomorrow, it’ll be like, “I’m sleeping late, ’cause I’m a singer.” And let us tell you that Adele isn’t the only star loving “Espresso.” Back in April, Katy Perry posted an Instagram reel of herself lip-syncing to the song. The Teenage Dream fame captioned her post, “I’m a singerrrr (and a mother, and a judge, and a…).”
Anyway, fans loved Adele’s support, praising both artists. One fan wrote, “Looks like Adele’s got some love for Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso!” Released on April 11, 2024, “Espresso” has been a chartbuster. The I’m On My Way singer also performed it at the 2024 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The captivating track debuted at number six on the UK Singles Chart, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart.
By the way, “Espresso” is Carpenter’s second release of the year, following “You Need Me Now?” The track even featured Girl in Red, positioning at number 40 on the US Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. Carpenter shared with Apple Music that she penned “Espresso” in France and that the creative process was swift. She noted that the song “had a lot of personality.”
