The Royal Family can’t catch a break from all the drama and controversies. From King Charles III to Princess Kate, everyone has made it to the newspaper’s front page for various reasons. The media literally hounded Kate when she went MIA due to health reasons, but she came back stronger. Over at Belvoir Castle, the Duchess of Rutland had a similar experience. Read further!
Princess Kate: Emma Breaks Silence on Her Cancer Ordeal
The prostate cancer diagnosis of King Charles shocked everyone, and nobody was prepared to hear about Princess Kate. After a brave battle with the disease, Middleton dishes on her highs and lows publicly. The Princess of Cambridge shared a video explaining she learned about the cancer after her abdominal surgery in January 2024.
Since then, Catherine has been undergoing preventative chemotherapy and is now back in the public eye, looking healthier. However, there was another royal who opened up about her personal health story after getting diagnosed with breast cancer in 2024. We’re talking about Emma Manners, the Duchess of Rutland. The 61-year-old, still in recovery mode, wrote about her experience in The Telegraph.
She recalled finding a harmless lump, but it turned out to be stage 2 breast cancer. Nevertheless, Manners didn’t want this health setback to define her. Manners made big lifestyle changes, such as taking nature walks, journaling, fasting, and using magnesium for better sleep.
Emma Had a Tough Life
Fortunately, the cancer hadn’t spread, and she had a successful mastectomy right after her 61st birthday. However, her reconstructive surgery was delayed, and she even joked about it, “No new boobs and tummy tuck for Vi’s wedding.” Meanwhile, Emma’s marital home is Belvoir Castle, where she serves as the chief executive.
It’s the same palace featured in the famous TV show The Crown. As for her personal life, the Duchess married David Manners, the 11th Duke of Rutland, in 1992. Sadly, their marriage had its fair share of problems. The royal had five miscarriages, suffered panic attacks, and also spoke about David’s suspected affairs.
After parting ways in 2012, they still live in different parts of the castle, which has 356 rooms. Emma and her ex-husband have five kids, including Lady Violet, who is engaged to William Garnock. Additionally, Manners is reportedly in a relationship with Phil Burtt, a former manager at Belvoir.
No matter what, Emma bravely runs the castle with the same passion. Don’t miss out on more updates on King Charles III and other royals at Soap Opera Daily. What do you think about Emma’s journey? Drop your thoughts below.
