Another Scheduling Twist For Emmerdale And Coronation Street!
Soap fans know that the shows have been seeing many changes to the schedule. The soaps are regularly axed due to football matches. Thus, this week the viewers will see the schedule shake-up again. This is because ITV1 will air The Women’s European Qualifier this week. England will play against Spain. The match will start at 6:30 p.m. on ITV1 on Tuesday, April 14.
As the coverage clashes with the soap slots, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have changed their schedules. Thus, no episode will air tomorrow this week. However, the soap fans can see both episodes of the show on Sunday. Emmerdale will air at 7 pm on Sunday, followed by Coronation Street at 7:30 pm on ITV1.
Apart from this change, the soaps will run normally this week. Meanwhile, in 2025, ITV announced changes to its soap schedule, including Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Then, from January 2026, they introduced a soap power hour on weekdays with 30-minute soap episodes at 8 pm and Coronation Street at 8:30 pm.
ITV Has Introduced New Shows!
Earlier, Corrie aired three-hour-long episodes a week while Emmerdale aired half-hour and one-hour-long instalments. ITV chief executive Dame Carolyn McCall said that the company was making progress on a cost-cutting drive. Furthermore, the channel also introduced popular TV shows such as Good Morning Britain and Lorraine.
Elsewhere, Emmerdale has been focusing on various storylines involving Bear, Charity, Moira, Paddy, Dylan and Cain. All the characters are in great trouble.
