Just as things finally seem to calm down in Fairmont Crest—on the surface, at least—Friday night’s episode of Beyond the Gates is ready to shake things up all over again. Eva’s on a crusade to put things right, Kat catches something that could destroy her trust once again, and Anita and Vernon act fast to defend their family’s reputation.
Eva Attempts to Make Amends—But Will Anyone Listen?
After all she’s been through—voluntarily or otherwise—Eva Thomas has some bridges to mend. On Thursday’s show, she made the first moves by apologizing to Nicole during her desk-clearing at the Richardson mansion. However, their moment was interrupted by Dani bursting into the room and instructing Eva to exit. Eva didn’t argue and cleared out immediately.
There, she visited Leslie in hopes of gaining some measure of comfort or resolution. But her mother was not in the mood for logic. Leslie had been betrayed by Eva for attempting to prevent the public disclosure regarding the affair.
She blamed her daughter for “choosing” Ted and Nicole and let her know that she no longer wished for her in her life. To make the point, she had already gotten Eva’s belongings and evicted her.
Later in the day, Eva stopped by Ted’s hotel room door. Although he didn’t completely forgive her for going along with Leslie’s plan, he did offer to begin again. He also promised her that he’d never leave her again. It wasn’t quite a fairy-tale reconciliation, but it was at least a step in the right direction. Now, with May 9’s episode, Eva is on her apology tour again—but who’s next on her docket? And will they be open to listening to her?
Kat’s Shock—and a Potential New Betrayal in Beyond the Gates
At the same time, Kat Richardson is stepping into something she never anticipated. Just when she believed the worst was over with the revelation regarding Eva’s real parentage, the spoilers hint she will see something that leaves her totally baffled.
Would it be through her dad Ted connecting with Eva? If so, Kat may not be ready to witness her dad bonding with someone she views as an intruder.
Or maybe this shock would also include Tomas “Tom” Navarro. On Thursday, Kat spoke to Tom about the pandemonium of her parents’ anniversary party and requested him to recede from his friendship with Eva.
If Kat is now confronted with seeing Tom and Eva sharing an intimate moment, it might be a blow to her again. Whether it be her father or her perhaps-boyfriend, Kat is most definitely not ready to have Eva in her space on any level.
Anita and Vernon Go Into Damage Control
As their family is threatened by a possible PR crisis, Anita and Vernon Dupree are bracing for impact. On Thursday, the two breathed a sigh of relief that video from Ted and Nicole’s disastrous anniversary party hadn’t popped up on the Internet. But as all soap fans know, secrets don’t remain hidden long in Fairmont Crest.
All indications point to the Dupree power couple spending Friday’s episode dealing with keeping their family safe from the storm. Should something actually go viral, Anita and Vernon are well aware of how to move quickly. From controlling public opinion to squashing rumors in the community, they’ve handled scandal previously. And they’re more than prepared to do so again.
