Beyond The Gates actor, Mike Manning has opened up about his experience as Smitty on the new CBS soap. In an exclusive interview with Soap Hub, he spoke about his previous role and journey on the show. The talented actor also shared details about his new character in Fairmont Crest and added he’s grateful for it. Here is what he said; let’s dive into the details of it all!
Beyond The Gates: From Charlie to Smitty, Mike Never Fails To Impress!
Mike Manning, the actor who portrays Bradley ‘Smitty’ Smith on the latest soap opera, spoke about how he landed the role and how his character has helped him evolve as an actor. Earlier in February, he took his social media handle and posted about the Beyond The Gates premiere and wrote – “Welcome to Fairmont Crest, we’ve been working hard on this show & are excited to share w/ the world FEB 24th!”
Mike’s alter ego, Smitty is a former political beat reporter, and is now a house husband. He is married to Martin Richardson who is a congressman. The couple shares two children – Tyrell and Samantha. Indeed, his character is a fabulous father who is raising the kids with so much love and warmth. Viewers witness him being humorous and witty as well with the kids.
However, the actor is not new to the soap opera world. He first appeared on Days Of Our Life soap in October 2020, where he was playing Charlie Dale. His character’s journey on the soap was quite interesting as he rose up from the dead multiple times. He was first shot to death by Jan Spears in 2021 but later during Halloween was brought back to life by the devil, who possessed Marlena and later returned to grave.
Furthermore, in 2022 the devil possessed Allie, and she brought Charlie again back to life to keep haunting Salem. As for Beyond The Gates, Spoilers suggest that his character will be seen in an intense discussion with husband Martin next week, as they are worried about their son Tyrell’s weird behaviour.
