Beyond The Gates actress Karla Mosley has finally opened up about the reason she left other CBS Soap.’ The actress played the role of a transgender on The Bold And The Beautiful. She has recently revealed that it is a kind of role she would not like to play again. Keep scrolling down to know why.
Why did Karla Say Goodbye To The Trans Role?
Karla Mosley was seen playing a fashion model character on The Bold and The Beautiful. Her role name was Maya Avant, which was initially introduced in 2013. Later, in 2015, her character came out as a transgender character on the show.
In a recent interview with People, Mosley confessed that in the starting she felt ‘inappropriate to play the role’. She ‘identifies as queer but is not transgender.’ Mosley further told how her friends advised her to take up the role and said, “if you don’t accept this story, this story won’t be told.” Also talked about how Caitlyn Jenner opened about her transition the same time when Maya’s character as a trans was introduced.

She eventually ended up with the role, with the intention of bringing the spotlight on the Trans community for good. She added that she is grateful for the love fans poured in, on the character. But slowly and steadily she started to face problems playing a transgender as she is a cis woman. Karla further added that she started questioning herself that ‘if she loved the character then, why don’t she love her now.’
She continued by telling about the reviews she received and how the storyline helped so many families and communities. She explained that the reason behind her stepping down from the character was a strong feeling of it being very ‘inappropriate for her to play the role’. Although, Karla is still very certain about playing very meaningful characters that hold importance just like the character Maya had.
It is sad that Mosley had to say goodbye to the character and the soap. But what really matters is the impression she left on everyone’s mind and heart.
