Manning Shares A Touching Love Letter On Social Media!
Mike Manning, known for his impactful LGBTQ+ roles – Caleb on The Bay and Smitty in Beyond The Gates recently attended the Human Rights Campaign gala in Los Angeles. This organization is very special to him as HRC has been a strong supporter of his journey since the very beginning.
Manning shared Instagram posts along with a touching caption expressing his love for the organization. His posts included his husband Nick, along with Queen Celebrities such as David Archuleta, Kevin McHale and Janelle Monáe. Manning shared in the caption that HRC LA Dinner felt like coming home. He reflected on how those people who have followed him since the beginning of his career would know how much HRC means to him. It helped him face himself when he was a scared young person.
He also recalled his time on MTV’s The Real World D.C. in 2010 when he was an openly bisexual actor and spoke to Congress in support of the Human Rights Campaign. Now, 15 years later he reflected on his personal growth, his acceptance of his sexuality, and his increased confidence to use his platform for good things. Further he praised HRC, calling it the largest LGBTQ+ organization in the U.S. He acknowledged their efforts in helping the community secure more rights, opportunities and visibility. He ended his post by describing the caption as a love letter to HRC.
