Brax and Ricky left Summer Bay in 2016 determined to build a better future. They settled in outback Western Australia, where they now work on a remote cattle ranch. Their life is quiet and steady, far removed from the chaos of the River Boy days.
Their son Casey, once a baby, is now 10 years old and growing up in a peaceful environment. Brax has changed over the years. For all his past faults, he has always put family first. That loyalty has now changed from his brothers to Ricky and Casey. He has matured and become fiercely protective of his son.
He makes a conscious effort to keep Casey away from the kind of life he grew up in, and he feels proud that he has managed to do that. Everything changes with one phone call. Tane finds himself in serious trouble when his lawyer quits and pressures him to plead guilty, even though he insists he did not commit the crime.
Kerrie, who planted drugs in Archie’s cot to frame him, has disappeared without a trace. At the same time, Cash remains under the watchful eye of Sergeant Langham. The walls begin closing in quickly.
Tane’s Crisis Drags Them Back To The Edge
Just when Tane seems ready to accept his fate, Mack suggests a drastic alternative. She encourages him to run and even gets her brother Dean involved to contact Brax. The idea is simple but dangerous. If Tane disappears now, he might still have a chance to be there for his son in the future.
Tane believes he is doing what is best for his child. He convinces himself that going on the run gives him hope, while prison guarantees separation. That belief leads directly to Brax and Ricky’s doorstep in Western Australia.
Back on the cattle ranch, Brax and Ricky face an impossible decision. If they agree to help Tane, they risk exposing their peaceful life to danger. If they refuse, they leave him to face prison alone. The request forces Brax to consider whether he can truly turn his back on someone in need. Brax understands the enormity of the choice.
