Eva Price may be stirring plenty of drama behind the Rovers Return bar, but off screen Catherine Tyldesley is feeling nothing but gratitude. Just months after rejoining Coronation Street, the actress has publicly praised one of her newest co-stars and her heartfelt message shows their working relationship has quickly become something special.
Her Return To Corrie Led Her Straight To This Co-Star
Catherine returned to the ITV soap in October after seven years away, explaining at the time that coming back simply “felt right.” Originally, she expected only a short appearance for a funeral storyline, but producers soon told her they wanted Eva back permanently and at the centre of the Rovers Return.
The comeback also introduced viewers to Eva’s partner Ben Driscoll. In the storyline, Ben secretly bought the pub and revealed it by bringing Eva back to Weatherfield from Hull, putting the pair behind the famous bar together.
Ben’s arrival didn’t come alone either. His mother Maggie shocked everyone by declaring she was actually the owner after helping her son out of financial trouble.
With their blended family settling into the street, including Eva’s daughter Susie, the characters quickly became heavily involved in ongoing drama. And while the storylines have been intense on screen, Catherine has clearly enjoyed building the partnership at the heart of it.
Catherine Calls Herself “So Lucky” To Work With Aaron McCusker
Sharing a behind-the-scenes photo with Aaron, Catherine told fans she feels “so lucky” to work with him every day.
She revealed their careers had almost overlapped several times in the past through auditions, saying she had admired his work long before they finally met on the cobbles. She joked that the universe must have planned it, because they ended up working together after all.
atherine praised his acting in detail, describing his performances as careful and generous while also calling him one of the nicest and funniest people she knows. She added that standing behind the bar with him each day is “a bloody pleasure,” especially when he turns up with Turkish delight or dark chocolate. The tribute didn’t go unnoticed by the cast. Tony Maudsley responded warmly, writing, “Ahhh now this just works a treat!! Perfect match!!”.
