Princess Kate: When Kate Was Mistaken for Will’s Assitant
In 2020, Princess Kate and her husband visited Shire Hall Care Home in Cardiff, Wales. They were there to reconnect with Joan Drew-Smith, a resident with who they played bingo virtually. But instead of being a bit cordial, Joan went unfiltered when the Prince of Wales brought up their last game.
According to Hello! magazine, she told Will, “You did a bloody s—– job,” referring to his bingo-calling skills. And let us tell you that the interaction took place during COVID-19 when masks were the dress code. Meanwhile, the future King tried to keep things light by explaining the mask might hinder their communication.
He added, “It’s difficult to hear sometimes when you can’t see someone’s mouth.” And that’s when Joan looked at Kate and asked, “Is that your assistant?” Her response? “Well I am your assistant! I have been for a long time!” Catherine joked. As for William, he later told staff, “I love Joan, she’s brilliant. If only everyone was as honest as her.”
Kate’s Sense of Humour Is Hilarious!
The Princess of Wales has been nailing her royal duties ever since marrying Prince William in April 2011. From day one, she’s fulfilling her responsibilities with grace and amazing sense of humour. In 2023, she visited Burghead Primary School in Moray, Scotland. The royal introduced herself casually while chatting with kids.
“Who am I? I’m married to William,” she said in a video later posted on X. Salute to her levels of humility! Furthermore, royal biographer Penny Junor once said: “Kate’s never trying to outshine William in any way but still has a lot to say herself.”
Most recently, the future Queen brought some real glam to Scotland’s HMS Glasgow naming ceremony on May 22. She paid homage to her mother-in-law, Diana with her outfit. As the ship’s official sponsor, she got to press a button that sent whisky smashing against the hull. But don’t expect public outings this week. Why?
With Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis on half-term break, Will and Kate are focusing on their little ones. Don’t miss out on more Princess Kate updates at Soap Opera Daily.
