Life on Coronation Street hasn’t been kind to Lauren Bolton lately, but a familiar face has become a steady presence through her rough patch. As she rebuilds her life and adjusts to her new normal, one young man’s support has started to mean more than just friendly concern. But when past trauma clouds judgement, can something new really bloom?
Aadi Steps Up After Lauren’s Fall
You’ll remember Lauren had that nasty fall not too long ago, and things were pretty bad, she ended up in hospital after taking something she shouldn’t have. What she didn’t realise at the time was that Aadi felt partly to blame for what happened. He kept turning up at her bedside, not just out of concern, but because he was carrying guilt.
Even so, it wasn’t all about guilt. Aadi genuinely seemed to care. He was there when she moved into her new flat, offered to lend her money, and even gave her an air fryer as a housewarming present. Sweet, right?
But Lauren didn’t know what to make of it. Given the way men in her past have treated her, she couldn’t believe Aadi might just be being nice with no hidden agenda. Then Shona made one of her usual cheeky remarks about young lads only wanting one thing, and that just confirmed Lauren’s fears. So, she started backing off.
Still, over time, she began to see Aadi in a different light. He wasn’t pushing anything. He was just there. So she invited him round for tea, just her, Aadi, and little Frankie. And that’s when it started to click. She realised she actually liked him. Like, “liked” liked him.
The Kiss That Changes Everything
In upcoming scenes, it all comes to a head. Aadi finally opens up and tells Lauren that he likes her too. And just like that, they kiss. After everything that happened with Max. Remember, he was the one who took the fall for Joel’s death to protect her, she’s finally letting someone new in.
And Max is out of the picture now anyway, sitting in prison after torching the Platts’ house to try and fix David’s money problems. So it really does feel like a fresh start. But of course, nothing’s ever that simple on the cobbles. The next day, Dev ends up putting his foot in it, making a clumsy comment about Lauren’s dad being in prison. Ouch. Understandably, that doesn’t go down well with her.
Can They Make It Work in Coronation Street?
To be fair to Dev, he does realise he’s messed up and tries to make things right. He even tells Lauren he’d like to get to know her better, which helps smooth things over. So, with Dev softening a bit and that spark between Lauren and Aadi officially lit, it looks like this could be the start of something real.
But this is Coronation Street, and we all know a kiss is never just a kiss. There’s always something lurking around the corner. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest drama, heartbreak, and surprises from Weatherfield.
